Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Pace and Pedal Duathlon

Note: The 5.7 mile running portion of this race is on a non-paved trail. The 10.3 mile bike course will be on paved roads.

19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

2-PERSON TEAM (Men/Men, Women/Women, Co-ed)

*Participants can register individually or as a two-person team (please register together if participating as a team).
*A bike helmet is REQUIRED during the biking portion of the race.
*For your safety, no earbuds/music will be allowed during the biking portion of the race.
*Participants receive a performance t-shirt when registered by May 7th, 2017.


Lake Wazee 5K Fun Run/Walk

Note: This 3.1 mile course is paved.

*Any age welcome to participate! Course is fully-paved and stroller-friendly. No pets please.
*Finish line clock for self-timed race. No awards.
*Participants must register individually.
*Participants receive a performance t-shirt when registered by May 7th, 2017.


Note: This 1.0 mile course is paved.

*Ages 12 & under
*Participants must register individually.
*Youth race participants receive a headband  and finisher's medal with registration.



4:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Packet Pickup at BRMH (front lobby)

6:30 - 7:30 A.M. - Packet Pickup at Lake Wazee
6:30 - 7:30 A.M. - Same-day Registration (no race t-shirt with same-day registration)

8:00 A.M. - Pace and Pedal Duathlon begins  (5.7 mile trail run & 10.3 mile bike)

8:15 A.M. - 5K  (3.1 miles)

10:00 A.M. - Youth Race  (1.0 miles)

Pace and Pedal AWARD CEREMONY will follow conclusion of Youth Race.
