Set a Date

No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.

Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.

Southland Credit Union Los Alamitos Race on the Base

The Southland Credit Union Los Alamitos Race on the Base takes place on the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. The event includes a variety of races for all ages and abilities including:

Virtual Race

Honoring our Fallen 5K Run/Walk to Remember (Run or walk with us anywhere in the world and help us remember our fallen heroes)

 

The 5K, 10K and Reverse Triathlon races all take place on active military 100% flat runways with static displays of helicopters and mililtary vehicles. The Reverse Triathlon is the largest known of its kind in the United States.

               Wave 1 at 6:30 pm   (8 & under w/ family 1/2 mile)

               Wave 2 at 6:50 pm   (9 to 14 no adults 1/2 mile or 1 mile)

               Wave 3 at 7:10 pm   (Open all ages 1/2 mile or 1 mile)

7:30 pm   Los Alamitos Medical Center Health & Fitness Expo / Packet Pick Up Closes

8:00 pm   Live Band and Outdoor Festival Concludes

6:50 am    Opening Ceremonies: National Anthem and Color Guard (for 5K/10K)

6:55 am    10K Handcycle/Wheelchair Start  (max 1 hr 30 min)

7:00 am    10K Run Start  (max 1 hr 30 min)

7:00 am    Jr. Reverse Triathlon Start (Ages 7 to 8) (Mandatory meeting 15 min. prior to Start)

7:10 am    Honoring Our Fallen 5K Run to Remember Start  (max 1 hr 30 min)

7:15 am    Honoring Our Fallen 5K Walk to Remember Start  (max 1 hr 30 min)

7:30 am    Jr. Reverse Triathlon Start (Ages 9 to 12) (Mandatory meeting 15 min. prior to Start)

8:15 am    Wave 1 Reverse Triathlon Mandatory Meeting

8:45 am    Wave 1 Reverse Triathlon Start (Finishers w/ max time of 1 hr 30 min & Relay Teams)

9:45 am    Wave 2 Reverse Triathlon Mandatory Meeting

10:15 am   Wave 2 Reverse Triathlon Start (Finish times over 1 hour 30 min+, Athena, Clydesdale, Challenged Athletes)

 

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO ARRIVE AT LEAST ONE HOUR AND HALF (1 & 1/2 HOURS) EARLY FOR 5K/10K EVENTS AND AT LEAST TWO (2) HOURS EARLY FOR THE TRIATHLON EVENTS.  IN ORDER TO ENTER THE BASE, ALL ADULTS MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE, IDENTIFICATION CARD OR PASSPORT IN THEIR HAND TO SHOW MILITARY PERSONNEL. PLEASE HAVE YOUR I.D. INSIDE YOUR CAR AND READY TO PRESENT TO MILITARY PERSONNEL.  NO PETS OR MOTORHOMES ALLOWED ON SITE. NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS.
