Build a Foundation
Add some variety to your exercise routine. Run one day and strength train the next. This will not only hold your interest in the workouts longer, but it will give your body the time it needs for recovery. Additionally, you are covering more muscle groups throughout the body and keeping the workouts motivating and different.
To build up endurance for your 5K race include some interval training as part of your regimen. Use hill sessions and up-tempo to your runs to do this. Hold a steady running pace where you do not feel like you are just about to die, but that you can keep going.
Head to the track for shorter interval runs while learning to pace yourself. Learn to conserve your energy during the first part of the race and then to let go in the second half so you can make it to the finish line of you 5K race.
Blacklight Run™ is a unique night 5K fun run focused less on speed and more on UV Neon Glowing fun with friends and family. Glowing participants come from all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds; every participant will get Glowed™ and has the time of their life. Whether you are an avid runner or a walk around the park walker, the 3 miles of the Blacklight Run™ course will have you glowing and waiting for the next one!
The Blacklight Run™ has been setup with very simple rules
1) Wear a white shirt (any white T-shirt will work or wear your awesome commemorative Blacklight Run™ T-Shirt given with your registration) to be worn at the start line.
2) You will finish covered in Blacklight Run™ UV Neon Glow Powder, that will glow in our Blacklight Zones™ and at the Blacklight Run After Party™.
By the end, you will look like you fell into a Ghost Buster’s movie (minus the slime) and covered with different colored Blacklight Run™ UV Neon Glow Powder. This is the first of its kind at night and is quickly sweeping the nation!
