Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Lift Bridge Road Race

The Lift Bridge Road Race is based in Bayport, Minnesota. New in 2017... the Lift Bridge Road Race will include a 10K! The 10 Mile and 10K races are mostly rural with scenic views throughout. The 10 Mile course starts at Lakeside Park while the runners in the new 10K will be bused to their start location. The 5K course is a loop course weaving through the streets of residential Bayport. All courses share a common finish line in Lakeside Park adjacent to the St. Croix River. The Lift Bridge Road Race is part of the 2017 Run Stillwater Race Series, which also includes the Stillwater Half Marathon/10K/5K May 27 and the Stillwater Log Run September 16.
