Set a Date
No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
More than just a running program, GOTR combines training for a 5k event with innovative lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. The results empower girls with the confidence and character they need to become strong, healthy, women. The Girls on the Run 5k will be held Sunday, June 4. There is no additional fee for your child to attend this celebratory 5k. There is an additional charge of $30.00 if your child wants to register a running buddy. Family members 16 years and older are encouraged to be a runny buddy for the 5k. A running buddy will be assigned to any girls who does not have one registered. More information will be given at the information meeting on the first day of practice.
