Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.
The closed-course, chip-timed PB&J 5K/10K will kick-off from beautiful Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater and head over the Memorial Causeway Bridge with incredible views of the sunrise over the Gulf. 10K participants will head down into Clearwater Beach, running along the white sand beaches, through the marina, and back over the bridge. All registered runners will receive a PB&J Run t-shirt, finisher medal, and all-you-can-eat PB&J's at the finish line! The first 100 runners to cross the finish line in both the 5K and 10K will also receive a custom PB&J Run cooler bag. The event also includes a post-race expo with 15+ interactive vendors, music, and complimentary food and drinks for all runners. 100% of proceeds will benefit Pinellas County children through the services of local 501(c)(3) non-profit Directions for Living.
The 5K will start at 7:15am.
3.1 mile course with one water station.
Starting at Coachman Park, 5K participants will catch a beautiful sunrise as they run over the Memorial Causeway Bridge and back.
The 10K will start at 8:00am.
6.2 mile course with three water stations. Course will be open for two hours after start.
Starting at Coachman Park, 10K participants will catch breathtaking views of the Gulf as they run over the Memorial Causeway Bridge, alongside white sand beaches, through the marina, and back over the bridge.
The 15K Challenge will start at 7:15am.
Challenge participants will complete both the 5K and 10K runs. Runners must finish the 5K and be back at the Start Line before the 10K begins at 8:00am. Challenge participants will receive a pair of custom PB&J Run athletic socks, in addition to their PB&J t-shirt and medal.
