Set a Date
No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
Explore the ethnic roots of New York and the United States beginning at the American icon Statue of Liberty. You will see how immigration influenced and made up the very foundation of the city. People from around the world came at different times and for different reasons, but all left and continue to leave their marks on business, politics, food, neighborhood life and the very character of New York.
The running tour begins and ends at the Castle Clinton National Monument. You will be responsible for your on-time arrival and travel to the meeting location. The closest subway stations to the start are the 1 to South Ferry; N/R to Whitehall Station; 4/5 to Bowling Green (Subway Map: http://bit.ly/1gMhQxq)
