Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Woodlawn 5K Real Fun Race

The Woodlawn 5K "Real Fun Race" and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place at St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, FL. on a new scenic course surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico in late September. The course has a few small inclines and curves as you enjoy the parks natural surroundings. As you approach the finish line you pass through the line of spectators cheering you on and greeted to music by a live DJ motivating you to cross the finish line. Snacks and drinks will be available at the food tent before and after the race.

Parking instructions will be given at the park gate.

Pre-Race packet pick-up and race registration will be open Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4 PM to 6:30 PM at Woodlawn United Methodist Church located at 219 N. Alf Coleman Rd., Panama City Beach, FL.

Race Day packet pick-up will open at 6 AM at St. Andrews State Park.

The 5K race will start at 7:30 AM, the 1 Mile Fun Run will start after the completion of the 5K race. Awards cermony will take place after the Fun Run.

All Participants will receive a custom 100% cotton t-shirt with the race logo and swag bag. Awards will be given out to the following:
5K men's & women's overall 5K winners and men's & women's overall Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters (60+). Custom medals will be awarded to the top 3 men & women's finishers in each age group. Participants in the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive a finishers medal.
Pets are allowed under the following restrictions: Pets must be on a leash, pick up after you pet and runners with participating pets must start from the rear of the field.
