No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
You love a well-crafted local brew. You enjoy a good run with friends. Mix the two together and you’ve got one heck of a good time in Athens, GA. The Beer Mile has become a rite of passage and this is your chance to add your name to the long list of fine drinking athletes who have come before you.
Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 4:45PM
1 Mile: Starts at 6PM
Categories: Competitive - Going for the win - You've trained for this. Recreational - Going to have a good time - Maybe in a costume.
Awards: Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, Best Costume.
Timing and Results: Chip timing and results provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classicraceservices.com, www.athlinks.com, www.coolrunning.com and www.active.com.
Shirts and Goodies: T-shirts guaranteed to runners that register by 08/31/17 and as available on race day. There will be plenty of refreshments.
Beverages: All participants 21 years of age or older, will have their choice of several beers courtesy of SBC. No outside beverages are permitted. The necessary 4 beers (canned) are included in the registration fee.
Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds.
