Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

2018 Kiwanis Adventure Runs

The adventure continues!  This is a challenging and spectacular 5 Mile run combines the 5K woodland course plus two miles on the beautiful Honeymoon Island North Beach.

Event details and schedule

The event will take place in Honeymoon Island State Park, Sunday January 14, 2018.

Race day registration and check-in begins about 7:00 am.

Combined start time is 8:30 a.m.  


Runners receive FREE Admission to enter Honeymoon Island from about 6:00 am to  8:00 am.  After the park opens entry fee is $4 single or $8 two or more. 

Also, parking is 1/4 mile away in the North Parking lot. You need to allow at least 30 minutes to get from the entrance gate, to park, and get to registration.

The race starts and ends in the park's playground.


All registered runners will receive a long sleeve tee shirt, but no shows will forfeit their shirt.
