Set a Date
No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
This is an accurate trail 10 miler & 5k within beautiful Powhatan State Park in the heart of South Central Virginia, just half an hour from Richmond and within an hour of Charlottesville. Proceeds will go to families in need in Texas (hurricane victims) and Powhatan, as well as to the Powhatan XC Team and Science Olympiad Team (solar initiative project).
Date: Saturday, March 3 2018
Location: Powhatan State Park (4616 Powhatan State Park Rd, Powhatan, VA 23139)
Race Schedule: 10 miler & 5k will start together at 9am.
Timing: Both the 10 miler & 5k will have chip timing.
Parking: Free parking (cars will just need to check in with volunteers at the gate).
Course: A course map with mile markers of the trails used will be available as soon as it is finalized.

Shirts: The first 150 entrants will be guarenteed custom race shirts.
Cost: 10 miler - $25 until Feb. 1 ($30 after Feb. 1 & on race day) / 5k - $20 until Jan. 31 ($25 after Feb. 1 & on race day).
10k Awards (will be presented at a post-race banquet): Overall & top 3 runners in each age group will receive awards. Lucky Foot gift certificates will also be awarded to the overall winners & the top age-group finishers.
5k Awards (will be mailed to recipients): Overall & top 3 finishers in each age group will receive awards. Lucky Foot gift certificates will also be awarded to the overall finishers.
Age-groups: 10 miler (must be 18 to participate) - 18-24, 25-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-70, 71 & up / 5k (ages 7 & up can participate) - 7-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-70, 71 & up.
Restrooms: There are restrooms near and close-by the start line.
