Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.
Come join RUN YOUR RACE for a family friendly 5k Run/Walk and help support Team RWB, a veteran's support group! Their mission is to enrich the lives of veterans through physical and social activity and anyone can become part of the Team at www.TeamRWB.org! You will experience a small town feel at our professionally run events, with just enough competition to make it fun and exciting!
Cost: $25 early registration, includes a beautiful finisher medal, matching lapel pin, wristband and other goodies along with age group awards in 14 categories!
The Kids Run is a 1 Mile course that allows for shorter distances for the little ones. Each child receives a medal but there is no timing or place awards. The kids run will start at 9:45 after the main 5K race is completed. (Live Race only - We do not offer the Kids run as a virtual option.)
No packet pickup is necessary! Check in starts at 6:30 am on Sunday, April 29th at the back of Mesa Riverview Park near the Rio Salado Bike Pathway entrance. The park is located at 2100 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ 85201. Please follow the direction/Map posted on AZVR.org. The 5K race is scheduled to start at 8:00 am, so please arrive early! We will provide you with a bib when you arrive and the race is chip timed with age group awards. Your finisher medal will be awarded after the run and water and snacks are also provided.
Can’t make the date? Choose the “On Your Own” option to Run Your Race anywhere you like and earn your medal, simply report your time using the Contact Us form on our web site. You get motivation to stay active and the charity will benefit from your support! Your race packet will be mailed right to your door! You have until May 31st to complete your race.

There is no pre-race packet pickup. Check in begins at 6:30 am at the Mesa Riverview Park, near the Rio Salado Pathway entrance. Plan to stick around for the raffle after and we will try to conclude the event by 10 am. Please bring a water bottle to stay well hydrated!
