Set a Date
No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
Celebrate Historic Preservation Month by spending an evening in the historic ruins of the Patapsco Female Institute and learn about the historic preservation efforts that went into saving this National Register of Historic Places site. Take a self-guided tour of the ruins, view photos of the site over time, including the period of abandonment and learn how the preservation process began at a grassroots level by concerned citizens and led to stabilizing the ruins. There will be an opportunity to stroll the landscaped grounds and enjoy the spring evening as the ruins come to life. Iced tea, other soft drinks and light refreshments will be served. Parking on site is limited to accessible only; a shuttle from the Circuit Court parking lot will bring you up the hill to the ruins and will run continuously for the event. Rain or shine.
