Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

COME ONE, COME ALL: Bring your families out and stick around to enjoy the festival taking place in beautiful Brookhaven, GA. The race runs through scenic Ashford Park. Plus, you'll enjoy being encouraged by our many cheering spectators through the tree-lined streets.
Race Start: 8:00AM
SHIRTS: We will be giving GENDER-SPECIFIC, FITTED tees for all participants (both cut shirts are the SAME color).
As a courtesy and a reminder as we want all participants happy with their shirt: PLEASE NOTE: the Women’s style is more fitted & we recommend wearing at least one size larger than your normal shirt size. We CANNOT swap sizes at packet pick up.
AGAIN, THE FEMALE SHIRTS RUN SMALL AS THEY ARE GENDER-SPECIFIC & ATHLETIC CUT!!! WE CANNOT MAKE EXCHANGES!! If you would prefer a less fitted cut, women may order a men’s shirt instead.
PACKET PICKUP: Make sure to show up to packet pick-up on Friday at Big Peach Running Co. in Town Brookhaven 4:00-8:00PM or on race day to guarantee your shirt as well as to receive your race number and race bag!
PRIZES: Brookhaven Bolt 5k will be providing prizes & medals to age group and overall winners during the post-race festivities.
PROCEEDS: 100% of the event proceeds will go directly to Ashford Park Elementary School, a shining example of the growth and progress that DeKalb County elementary schools can boast of, especially when the local community as well as generous corporate partners provide support and backing.
WALKERS/STROLLERS: Walkers and strollers are welcome! Runners will begin at 8:00am, while walkers and strollers will start at 8:05am. Strollers please lineup behind runners.
