Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.
The Three Rivers 5K is presented by the Boys and Girls Club of Gilmer County in Ellijay, GA. The course is a double loop on the super flat fitness path that runs along the river. Proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Gilmer County.
Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 7AM
Fun Run: Starts at 8AM
5K: Starts at 8:30AM
Awards: 5K awards to the Overall Male and Female and 3 deep in male and female age groups beginning with 10 and Under to 70 and over.
Shirts and Goodies: Shirts are guaranteed to those who register by 5/12/18. Those registering after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size. There will be plenty of refreshments.
Series Affiliation: The race is part of the 2018 Black Bag Race Series.
Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds.
