Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

The leaves should be changing as we walk / run along the Potomac creating an amazing morning event. #WashingtonDCThe51stState Registration will be closed at 500 walkers /runners.
We are looking for an Official Post Race Party Location at the Waterfront near Nats Park following the Race. ??????
50 Kids ages 16 and under can register for FREE the morning of the race when accompanied by a parent. 2 kids free per household.
VIRTUAL RUNNERS: Your Custom T-Shirt & Medal Will Be Mailed Off The Week Of The Race When We Get Those Items Shipped To Our Warehouse. Thank You All For Your Support!!
RACE COURSE: The Run For 51 route is an out and back along the Potomac so you finish where you start. The course is mostly flat
PARKING: There is parking in Anacostia Park to accommodate 500+ vehicle
BIB PICKUP: Bib Pickup will be at the race location the morning of the race beginning at 8:00am.
SWAG: Each participant will get an Inaugural 2018 custom performance t-shirt and custom medal.
Additional Info: We will have a bag check, water stations and bathrooms will be at the start/finish line. The course will be open for 2 hours.
AWARDS: Awards will be given to the top three male and female.
Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, and you cannot transfer your bib to someone else or to another event. You can defer your registration for 1 calendar year. You must contact us at least 1 month before the event date to be able to defer. NO EXCEPTIONS.
