Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.
Come out to support our Hero’s in the first annual Hero’s Hike 5K benefiting Operation Gratitude to provide care packages to our troops. You are welcomed to Run/Walk this Superhero themed 5K. Feel free to dress up as your favorite superhero and enjoy the festivities. This event will take place in the beautiful and family friendly Tropical Park (Certified 5k track). Participants are encouraged to invite family members and friends to cheer them on as they run for a cause.
Free Parking is available on site. Runner/walkers are encouraged to arrive by 6:30am to pick up registration packets. Photo ID is required at packet pickup along with 5K registration confirmation. Registration will closed at 6:50am. We will be running/walking on a certified 5K course, and the 5K will start promptly at 7:30am.
