Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.
Join us for a family-friendly Christmas themed 5K fun run through the beautiful Woodstock Square Historic District and quaint Victorian neighborhoods. Get festive with our Best Christmas Costume Contest, along with race awards in eight age bands immediately following race. Competitive and recreational participants welcome! Proceeds benefit the Woodstock Christmas Clearing House.
$38 includes t-shirt and reindeer antlers headband. Teens 17 & under run for $25. 400K Kids run/walk for $15. This is a chip timed certified event.

For over 40 years, The Rotary Club of Woodstock has been providing food baskets, toys and books to approximately 1,100 less fortunate families & 2,000 children residing in the Woodstock and Wonder Lake areas each year. Christmas Clearing House is the largest community service project in Woodstock, with hundreds of volunteers helping to pack & deliver the food & toys every December.
