Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

The 5k & 10k runs begin in front of the Roosevelt Aquatic Center and loop around Constitution Park and the walking park.?
The adult triathlon is a short sprint type triathlon that is perfect for those who want to try the sport for the first time. It features a relaxed friendly atmosphere, staggered start pool swim (in the pool, but not on top of each other), and a short course (300 yard swim, 13 mile ride, and a 3 mile run).? We do not offer split times for the triathlon.
Packet pickup will be at the Kids Triathlon or Friday night from 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at Constitution Park (next to the Tropical Sno stand). There will be limited packet pick-up the morning of the races. Arrive 30 minutes before race start times on the day of the races to pick up packets. ?No same day registration.
UBIC Kids Triathlon? Sprint distance is recommended for ages 6 to 9. Swim 50 yrds, bike 1 mile, run 1/2 mile.? Olympic is recommended for ages 10 to 14. Swim 150 yrds, bike 3 miles, run 1 mile.? This is a great introduction to the sport and it's all about fun.? Registration is free. NO shirt. ?You will have the option of buying a shirt during registration if you wish.? NO same day registration.
