Set a Date
No matter if it is your first 5K race or your hundredth, when you register for a 5K race it will keep you motivated and on task to reach your goal of running a successful 5K race. By actually setting up a date on your calendar, you pinpoint the time that you have to be ready to step on that starting line of your 5K race.
Prepare a training schedule immediately after booking your 5K race. New runners should begin with light training and build into a longer running routine.
This 17th annual charity run is a challenging, family and community oriented 5K run/walk through downtown historic Smithfield and our beautiful Virginia countryside. All proceeds benefit the Christian Outreach Program in Isle of Wight County.
We are so excited you've decided to join us at the 17th Annual Smithfield Hog Jog. We will send you email updates periodically, but you can see some basic info below:
Friday, October 12th, 6p-8p, Christian Outreach, 402 Grace Street, Smithfield
Saturday, October 13th, 7a-8:30a, 100 Commerce Street, Smithfield
Race Day Schedule:
7:00 A.M. Race Day Registration (closes at 8:30am)

This is a rain or shine event, and being as we are in Virginia, October means it will either be 70 and sunny or 40 and rainy, with any combination in between. Dress for the weather, dress in costume (pigs are always a plus!), as long as you're dressed!
