Avoid Skipping Recovery
Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

January 20, 2019 marks the first Women Run LA race event Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1K fun run, held on the beautiful campus of UCLA. This WRLA fitness event includes a Yoga Garden, Health & Fitness Expo with food & beverage booths, activity tents, a stage with a huge video screen, and more.
General registration includes a tech running shirt, chip-timed event, and custom designed finishers’ medals. In addition to medals, overall 1st - 3rd place male & female winners for the 5K, 10K and 15K will receive prizes.
WRLA 2019, UCLA benefits Safe Passage Heals, whose mission is to help break the cycle of domestic abuse by healing and empowering women and their children, enabling them to live new, safe and productive lives. Safe Passage Heals supports and assists women and their children to heal and rebuild their lives after they have escaped domestic violence and abusive relationships.
