Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Rugged Maniac 5k Obstacle Race

Rugged Maniac is returning to Boone Hall Plantation on March 16, 2019 with 25 epic obstacles and 1 rockin’ party! Here’s how it works: Register for the race and you’ll get to run our 5k course or the Rugged Maniac X 10k+ option (which consists of unlimited consecutive laps of the 5k course and an exclusive RMX headband). You’ll climb towers of shipping containers, rocket down a massive water slide, crawl through underground tunnels, and experience some BIG new obstacles! As if that wasn't awesome enough, before and after you run you’ll get to party with thousands of other maniacs in our day-long festival which includes mechanical bulls, adult bounce houses, and tons of games and activities! So what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and register now before your preferred start time sells out!

If there is severe weather that prevents the event from being held at all on Saturday, it will be moved to Sunday. If severe weather persists on Sunday, it will be moved to a later weekend date.
