Build a Foundation

Add some variety to your exercise routine. Run one day and strength train the next. This will not only hold your interest in the workouts longer, but it will give your body the time it needs for recovery. Additionally, you are covering more muscle groups throughout the body and keeping the workouts motivating and different.

To build up endurance for your 5K race include some interval training as part of your regimen. Use hill sessions and up-tempo to your runs to do this. Hold a steady running pace where you do not feel like you are just about to die, but that you can keep going.

Head to the track for shorter interval runs while learning to pace yourself. Learn to conserve your energy during the first part of the race and then to let go in the second half so you can make it to the finish line of you 5K race.

Zombie Escape at Panic Point

We've got 50,000 gallons of water, 4 zombie areas with dozens of zombies, 20 existing and new obstacles, and lots of mud to make for a unique racing experience! Each racer is equipped with flags and a belt (flag football style). Your flags represent your health; the zombies will chase you and try to steal your flags, thus "infecting" you. If the zombies get all your flags, you can find a "medic" along the course who will have you perform a task to earn back a flag. Try to cross the finish line with at least one of your flags to finish the race as a "healthy" victor instead of an "infected" one! Racers may choose to participate alone or on a team of 4. All registered racers will receive a free t-shirt, medal, and a beer provided on site by a local brewery.

There will be live music, beer, and BBQ for sale. There will also be gear check and showers.
Race Weather and Climate
Climbing over walls, crossing rope bridges, and scampering up mud banks is very challenging. The fastest way through the course is to attack everything head-on, and even the fittest people will have some difficulty. But every obstacle has a bail out. If you need to walk around you will be asked to perform a physical task before you are allowed to continue. You do not need to be able to swim -- there is a lifeguard on duty and ropes to help you pull yourself through the lake obstacle. You also may choose to walk around the lake without penalty.
