Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

5K/8K Superhero Run

PUT ON YOUR CAPE AND RUN FOR A CAUSE! The Superhero Run is the biggest fundraising event of the year for DePaul University's Cities Project! Help us get Chicago Public School students on a path toward college! The Cities Project provides critical mentoring and after-school support for at-risk youth. All proceeds for the Superhero Run will go toward the maintenance and expansion of our program. COSTUME CONTEST! Anyone who wears a superhero costume to the race will be eligible to enter into our raffle. Winners will be chosen randomly. Prizes include a signed Chicago Bears flag, a basket from Terry's Toffee, a two-month membership to the Chicago Athletic Club, and more! NOT A RUNNER/WALKER?
