Build a Foundation

Add some variety to your exercise routine. Run one day and strength train the next. This will not only hold your interest in the workouts longer, but it will give your body the time it needs for recovery. Additionally, you are covering more muscle groups throughout the body and keeping the workouts motivating and different.

To build up endurance for your 5K race include some interval training as part of your regimen. Use hill sessions and up-tempo to your runs to do this. Hold a steady running pace where you do not feel like you are just about to die, but that you can keep going.

Head to the track for shorter interval runs while learning to pace yourself. Learn to conserve your energy during the first part of the race and then to let go in the second half so you can make it to the finish line of you 5K race.

Bare Burro Nude 5K Trail Run

It's the ultimate fun run, bucket list event and genuinely unique and challenging 5K. The 10th Annual Bare Burro Nude 5K is the best nude run in Southern California. It starts at Olive Dell Nudist Resort and winds through the foothills, along trails with panoramic views, ending back at the resort swimming pool and clubhouse. It's a technical course that's roughly 50% dirt fire roads and the balance on single track dirt trails. With over 300 participants, there is a great mix of serious runners and fun lovers looking for a unique running experience. Top finishers are highly competitive with a number of running clubs participating. You can check out a recap of finishing times by sex and age group on the Event Website. Price includes commemorative gift, awards for top 3 finishers in each age grade, all day admission to the club with tennis, restaurant, pool and huge jacuzzi. And there’s way more than just the 5K run! The 3rd Annual Naked Beer Mile Fun Run is on Saturday April 27 at 3pm. Saturday at 11 there is a giant Beer Pong tournament with a keg. There will also be a slack line, some competitions in the pool, a special dinner prepared by the restaurant, and a toga party Saturday night. So make a full weekend of it and come out and enjoy a full weekend of run and recreation. You can book the beer mile and camping when making your race registrations.
