Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Shoney's 11th Annual 5K Family Fun Run & FREE Festival

Mark your calendars for the 11th Annual Shoney's 5K Fun Run & Festival! The race takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 and begins at Nissan Stadium Lot T. Whether you are a competitive runner looking for a great race, a power walker looking for a scenic tour through the city or a novice looking to enter your first 5K, this race is for you! For the past ten years, Shoney's has supported the men and women in blue by donating 100% of the proceeds raised to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Support Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The fund was created to help support Metro Nashville Police officers who have the desire to continue their education. Join us in our goal to support the Nashville police department. To date, we've raised nearly $200,000 and we are not finished yet!
