Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

ZERO Prostate Cancer 5k Philadelphia

ZERO is proud to partner with Blue Ribbon Cancer Coalition of Pennsylvania to end prostate cancer. The 2019 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk - Philadelphia features a 5K run/walk, 1 mile walk, Kids' Superhero Dash for Dad, and virtual Snooze for Dudes program. Stick around for the family-friendly post-race celebration. Run/walk participants will receive shirts, free food and prizes, and the opportunity to connect with others who are impacted by prostate cancer. The funds raised from 2019 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk - Philadelphia are invested around the country to provide research for new treatments, free prostate cancer testing, and educate men and families about prostate cancer. No other prostate cancer charity spends more per dollar on programs - more than 85 cents. ZERO puts every donation to good use. Cost - 5K (All Ages): $30; 1 Mile (All Ages): $15; Kids Superhero Dash for Dad (Kids ages 0-9): $15; Snooze for Dudes (Participate virtually and sleep in to fight prostate cancer.): $35; 5K (ZERO’s Heroes Patient/Survivor): $20. Prices increase $5 on race day.
