Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Gather your friends and family and join us on Sunday, October 27, 2019 for our 28th Annual Lupus Loop 5K Run and 2.5 Mile Walk to End Lupus Now! Every dollar raised improves the lives of those impacted by lupus and is critical to advancing the lupus Movement. The Lupus Foundation is the only national force devoted to solving the mystery of lupus - one of the world's cruelest, most unpredictable, and devasting diseases - while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. The money raised at this event accounts for 70% of our annual revenue, used to provide services, outreach efforts, and research programs to the 48,000 people affected by lupus in the Philadelphia Tristate area. Your fundraising has a direct impact on the lives of those with lupus and the lives of their loved ones, right in your own backyard. Don't live in the Phillly area? You can still make a difference by signing up as a virtual participant, or simply by making a donation. Cost: $30 runner, $25 virtual participant. Fundraising is also encouraged.
