Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Fall Running Club


Does you child love to run? Are you looking for a way to burn off some of that excess after school energy in a safe and positive environment? Cumberland/N. Yarmouth Recreation is again offering the Fall Running Club Program!

The Primary Focus of this POPULAR fall program is to promote running as a fun, group oriented activity and is a great way to stay healthy. "Fun Run Meets" will be scheduled each Wednesday with other surrounding communities.

Registration starts Tuesday July 9th
Runners will meet at the Wilson school on Mondays and Fridays. Wilson runners will be dismissed from their classrooms to the playground. Runners will meet coaches and complete their stretching at MIW after dismissal a school bus will transport runners and coaches to Twinbrook Recreation area for their practice. Parents, please plan to pick up your youth at Twinbrook at 4:45, second parking lot. Regular season meets will begin at 4:15
