Build a Foundation
Add some variety to your exercise routine. Run one day and strength train the next. This will not only hold your interest in the workouts longer, but it will give your body the time it needs for recovery. Additionally, you are covering more muscle groups throughout the body and keeping the workouts motivating and different.
To build up endurance for your 5K race include some interval training as part of your regimen. Use hill sessions and up-tempo to your runs to do this. Hold a steady running pace where you do not feel like you are just about to die, but that you can keep going.
Head to the track for shorter interval runs while learning to pace yourself. Learn to conserve your energy during the first part of the race and then to let go in the second half so you can make it to the finish line of you 5K race.
On Sunday September 22, 2019 you'll earn the finisher's medal that celebrates the good old fashion Anerican Pie or fudge Brownie! These will proudly join your collection of favorite inisher's medals.
Check in race day opens at 8:15 a.m. and our 5K run/walk begins at 9 a.m. Sunday, September 22, 2019. This is a great run/walk and is family and stroller friendly. It all take place at Buffalo Wild Wings Clearwater next to Spectrum Stadium.
All registrants will receive the brownie or apple pie finisher's medal, a race shirt, free beer and post party with awards to the top 10 males and top 10 female finisher's. All participants who finish in under 59 minutes are electronically timed by bib number and to maintain our less competitive crowd, race results are posted in the afternoon on race day at www.727CanRace.com
Packet pick up is race morning only Sunday, September 22, 2019, as early as 8:15 a.m. at the venue Buffalo Wild Wings Clearwater. Your registration fee includes your Michelob Ultra free beer for everyone over 21, your post race sampler, inside Buffalo Wild Wings, an electronically timed and accurate 3.1 mile paved course, your awesome finisher’s medal and a race tech promotional shirt.
This race benefits Finishlines For Scholarships 501c3 so be sure to give a thumbs up to our many teens who help out at the race.
The course is entirely flat and paved. Strollers are welcome. No pets please.
