Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Join hundres of dog adorers and rescued canines for the 2019 Best Friend 5K Run and Dog Adoption Day! In support of the hundreds of rescue shelters throughout California, we are providing the largest on-site adoption event. Hundreds of rescued canines will be going home with new families while thousands of dogs with their human will be crossing the finish line for the Best Friend 5K Run! Share this memorable experience with your 4 legged BFF at Griffith Park on September 29, 2019.

Best Friend 5K Run Details:
Run Start Time: 8:00AM - 9:00AM
Participants must run in canine/human pairs. Dogs adopted on-site get to participate in the 5K for half the registration price while supplies last. Each dog and human will receive a finishers medal.
COURSE: The course will start and finish at the Crystal Springs Pettigrew Area at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. 1 aided/water station will be located at the 2nd mile of the run.
