Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

2019 Cupcake Day 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2

December 15 is National Cupcake Day and you know what that means! It’s time for a Cupcake Day virtual race to celebrate! Will you run for cupcakes? We sure hope so! Sign up and we’ll mail you an awesomely adorable cupcake medal that says, “Cupcakes are muffins that believe in miracles.” This is our fifth annual Cupcake Day virtual race! We will also be donating a portion of the proceeds (at least 15% of every registration) to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Help us celebrate cupcakes and raise money for a phenomenal charity!
