Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

Shamrock Beer Run Chicago

***March 7, 2020 at Busse Woods*** Who is ready to Party Shamrock Style? The 2020 event will feature a Kick-A** Party DJ, Food Trucks, Big Enclosed Party Tent, Giant Beer Pong & of course plenty of BEEEER. It’s going to be a BrewFest!! Start the 5K with a toast of a craft brew then run/walk, stopping each kilometer or so to drink another craft beer! Enjoy a pint of your favorite beer after your 5K!!! Better yet, enjoy a pint before the 5K... Come and enjoy Party Style 5K, some beer then be rewarded with a magnetic bottle-opening finishers medal! Plus all participants receive a long-sleeve performance tech shirt & pint glass. Not to mention 34 ounces of beer are included!! Don't want to do the 5K? Register for the BrewFest! It's only $10 plus includes a Pint of beer.... Now that's what I'm talking about, BEER! This is a 21+ event only. No strollers, no kids, no one under 21 admitted.
