Avoid Skipping Recovery

Listening to your body is key to avoiding injury and burnout. Your body can actually grow stronger when you are at rest. The process of training includes workouts that are strategically placed along with rest days, which provides stimulation during the activity and recovery when you are at rest. If you are new to running, it is important not to push yourself to hard. Injuries can pop up when training advances too quickly. If your body is giving you warning signs, listen and take the extra time off so you can fully adjust and recover to meet your specific fitness needs.

2020 Racing for our Friends Down Under

Australia continues to be in the grips of a nationwide bushfire emergency and we want to help. More than 50 fires are still burning. People, and animals, are losing their homes and their lives. At least 33 people have been killed, including four firefighters, and millions have animals have been killed. It’s devastating! We’ve created the Racing for our Friends Down Under 1M 5K 10K 13.1 26.2 to help raise funds for both the people and animals of Australia. We’ve created these unique wooden medals that are in the shape of the country of Australia and feature some of its beautiful wildlife. The medals have just been designed and will take 6 to 8 weeks to be produced and delivered to us. We will ship them out to you as soon as we get them. We are hoping to start shipping them out no later than mid-April, but hopefully sooner than that. You can complete our race before you get your medal and bib if you want to. The majority of proceeds will be donated to two charities. We will be donating 15% of each registration to GIVIT, an amazing organization in Australia that is helping provide the essential items needed to assist bushfire-affected communities in rebuilding their lives. We will also be giving another 15% of each registration to the World Wildlife Fund, who is helping with the bushfire emergency by helping to save wildlife and to restore the lost forests once the fires have cleared.
